On One Night with Steiny, Akademiks spoke about how the rapper treated him in a DM exchange on social media. Ak quickly assumed Baby just doesn't respect him at all, going into how the alleged dynamics between them make their enduring animosity all the more potent.
"Lil Baby hops in my DM, and he's like, 'Yo, lil' bro, why are you saying this, that, and the third?'" the streamer and commentator remarked. "I get it, 'cause I was being evasive. I was trying to tell him, 'Hey, dog, I wasn't talking about you.' But the tone of the conversation went left. And it's a rapper thing, because he lacks respect. Imagine you trying to tell me, 'I know I said X, Y, and Z, but that wasn't about you,' but I'm almost saying to you, 'You little b***h.' Like, I'm almost s***ting on you.
"At a point, you kind of start realizing this is bigger than even the conversation," he continued. "This guy doesn't even f***ing respect me... There's a lot of respectful rappers... First thing: 'little boy.' He kept everything 'little boy.' I'm older than this guy. 'Little boy, you got to know how you talking about me.' And I'm trying to now correct him, like, 'Bro, that wasn't about you.' [He] kept saying, 'Little boy.' I kind of correct him, but I can see he feels a way."
