Lil Durk's murder-for-hire trial continues this week as the prosecution is set to rest its case on Tuesday or Wednesday. OTF Vonni and Flacka are still slated to testify, while OTF Jam has become his own storyline throughout the early goings of the trial.
Once the prosecution has rested its case, the defense will present its counterarguments. This includes bringing in their own witnesses, all while attempting to poke holes in what the prosecution has presented.
Durk's legal team includes the likes of Brian Steel and Drew Findling. These high-powered defense attorneys are known for winning big cases. However, with that success comes a hefty legal bill.
According to DJ Akademiks, Durk has some famous friends helping him cover that bill. Among those friends are Drake, Kanye West, 21 Savage, and even Lil Baby.
DJ Akademiks Reveals Drake & Ye's Role In Durk's Case
According to Akademiks, Ye allegedly cut Durk a cheque for $250,000. Furthermore, Drake allegedly contributed upwards of $1 million for whatever Brian Steel decides to charge. Ak then claimed 21 gave some money, just like he recently did with Casanova. As for Lil Baby, his contribution was reportedly a bit more understated. Lastly, Akademiks noted that there are other artists contributing to the legal defense fund, but they were left unnamed.
Lil Durk's trial could be wrapped up by the end of this week. However, it is more likely that it lasts into the early parts of next week. Either way, there is a lot riding on this trial for the Chicago artist. If convicted, he faces life in prison.
