With Jay-Z set to perform at the Super Bowl, Joe Budden and his co-hosts aren't super excited about what's coming next.

Tuesday was an interesting day in hip-hop as reports suggested that JÄY-Z would be 2027's Super Bowl Halftime Show performer. This subsequently led to strong reactions on social media. Some loved the idea of Hov performing his hits on the world's biggest stage. However, there are others who are skeptical of whether or not the general public even wants this.

Debates are being had on podcasts across the internet, and The Joe Budden Podcast is no exception. Joe has hilariously called his co-hosts the "Hovengers." They are huge JÄY-Z fans, and typically defend his decisions.

That said, on Tuesday, they didn't seem to be feeling JÄY-Z's audacious move. Joe, Ish, and Ice were all lukewarm on the idea. They felt as though it just didn't make much sense, especially from a storytelling perspective.

Meanwhile, Parks and Marc Lamont Hill were extremely excited. They firmly believe that Hov will seize the moment and show why he is one of rap's most legendary artists.

The Joe Budden Podcast Gets Brutally Honest

Emanny also feels like this is a good move for JÄY-Z. Given the anniversaries for Reasonable Doubt and The Blueprint, he feels as though there is no better time than now to make this happen, once and for all.

When JÄY-Z took over Super Bowl Halftime Show booking duties for the NFL, this was always going to be inevitable. Fans knew that he would get the Halftime Show eventually. If this surprises you in anyway, then you simply have not been paying attention.

However, the reaction from The Joe Budden Podcast and others does showcase a worrying trend for Hov. Some just aren't buying that this performance is going to be one to watch or remember.

That does not mean the detractors are right. It just means that Hov will have to work extra hard to convince people.
