"Power" creator Courtney Kemp responded to 50 Cent's interview with Variety, in which he said he doesn't want to work with her again.

50 Cent has been on a fiery press run to promote the new Street Fighter movie, and he's also looked back on his other media projects. Specifically, he said he never wants to work with Power creator and show-runner Courtney Kemp again, and it turns out he has even more smoke than what fans thought.

50 said she downplayed his role in the show's creation and success, mismanaged budgets, and closed herself off to various ideas. This was during a Variety interview, and the publication got a response from Kemp. "While 50’s recollection of budgets and production requirements is uninformed, as he was rarely in a budget meeting, I have never once understated his importance in the genesis of Power," she stated. "While he did not write nor create the series, he was a large part of its birth. That said, I am completely bewildered by his need to mention me in interviews or podcasts. I have completely moved on in my career, and I hope that the imminent success of Street Fighter allows him to do the same."

Fif caught wind of this and took to Instagram to respond today (Sunday, October 18). "Wow Variety ask me who I wasn’t looking forward to working with again so I said Courtney. I thought I was being nice I didn’t even mention her sleeping with cast and crew members," he wrote.

Courtney Kemp & 50 Cent

We will see if Courtney Kemp responds to these casual but nonetheless hefty allegations. Clearly, their once-solid working dynamic is no more.

50 Cent has previously praised Courtney Kemp, back in 2018 when Power was arguably at its peak of popularity and acclaim. As the show and its universe have grown, though, the distance between them seems unreconcilable.

Of course, 50 Cent usually focuses on more hip-hop-adjacent targets when it comes to his online trolling. But maybe this situation will escalate into a more public feud on the Internet.

Either way, it's sad to see the two creatives get to this point. Fif made things pretty personal with this comment, and we can't imagine Courtney Kemp is too happy about him resorting to gossip.

Beyond engaging and breaking news coverage, Gabriel makes the most out of his concert obsessions, reviewing and recapping festivals like Rolling Loud Miami and Camp Flog Gnaw.
