Wedding plans are taking shape, and Wayne already knows which R&B legend he would love to have onstage for the big day.

Wedding planning can get complicated fast, but Lil Wayne seems to have at least one detail figured out. During the October 7 episode of The Joint Venture Show, the rapper was asked who he would want performing when he marries fiancée Madi Cannon, and his answer landed squarely in R&B royalty.

“My first choice, of course, would be Miss Anita Baker,” Wayne said, according to Complex. There is one catch. Wayne said he's heard Baker may be getting tired of performing, and he has no intention of turning his wedding invitation into an obligation. If the eight-time Grammy winner would rather sit this one out, his backup options aren’t exactly a downgrade. Keith Sweat and Babyface are next on the list.

Craig Carton suggested Baker’s “Sweet Love” as an obvious wedding selection, but Wayne wisely decided not to micromanage that part of the ceremony. He said Cannon would get to choose the song.

Wedding Plans Follow Wayne And Madi Cannon’s Reconciliation

All this wedding talk arrives shortly after Wayne made his relationship status considerably less mysterious. On September 28, while congratulating fellow Hot Boys member B.G. on his engagement to Brooke Jones, Wayne turned the camera toward Cannon and introduced her as his fiancée. “I’m marrying this one,” he said, making it clear he planned to walk down the aisle, too.

The announcement closed out a confusing few months for the couple. Engagement rumors first circulated in the spring, but Wayne publicly denied them in July, saying he and Cannon had split. At the time, he described their relationship warmly but said they had decided to part ways. Whatever happened during the months that followed apparently changed the calculus. By late September, Cannon was back at Wayne’s side with a new title.

The couple hasn't announced a wedding date, so Anita Baker doesn't need to start clearing her calendar yet. Still, Wayne already knows the sort of evening he wants.
