Somewhere between a gargantuan federal investigation and a conviction for violating the Mann Act, Diddy is still in good graces with some members of the hip-hop community. However, once Too $hort’s eagerness to celebrate Diddy’s freedom drew backlash, he quickly backtracked on his comments and apologized.
“I was a little insensitive with my words,” the Bay Area rapper said in a video shared on Instagram. “I said that I didn't condone what he did to Cassie but I would go to his party if he came home. And I really didn't know the full extent of the case. I did not know that there were a lot of women who had claimed that they had been abused by Puff Daddy, and how it affected them. I do not condone abuse in any kind of way. Not emotional, not physical, not sexual, and I don't support anybody that does it.”
The apology came after several people reached out to him with disappointment in his comments. Short Dog explained that he read more on the case afterward. He stated that he doesn’t support abuse or abusers, and expressed regret if his words hurt anybody.
Too Short Apologizes
“When I say I'm going to go to his party, I was talking about the parties that he throws for his friends, not any party where it's f*cking baby oil or some g*ddamn sexual sh*t,” Too Short said. I've been to dozens of his parties and never once have I seen a naked person or a sexual act.” He added, “I hope that when my brother comes home that he has grown.”
The backlash arrived after a recent appearance on The TMZ Podcast where he stated that he would welcome Diddy back home after his incarceration. However, he also stated that he doesn’t condone the surveillance footage that showed Diddy assaulting Cassie.
