Pharrell Williams produced all of Quavo's new album "QRÖMELIFE," and fans were quick to voice their distaste for the approach.

Pharrell Williams boasts some of the greatest instrumentals in hip-hop history, a reputation fans were excited to hear him live up to on QRÖMELIFE, the new album from Quavo. But based on first-day reactions to the tracklist, it seems like even the biggest Huncho fans weren't very impressed with Williams' executive production on the project, where each and every track has him behind the boards.

Of course, this is by no means a universal sentiment. Plenty of folks praised the dynamism of the beats and the new direction for the former Migo. But that's not what's dominating the timeline, whether you think that's a byproduct of social media or a true reflection of reception.

People clowned instrumentals like "HAOYU DEWDAT" for their bouncy and rubbery approach, which extends to a lot of other QRÖMELIFE cuts. The conversation around the Neptunes producer and fashion mogul has been active since his takeover of Clipse's Let God Sort Em Out, which got much more love from the general public on impact. Maybe folks found themselves overwhelmed by his prolific output as of late. Either way, it's not leading to charitable conversations online.

Quavo & Pharrell's QRÖMELIFE

This surprised many fans because Quavo's QRÖMELIFE tracklist features some close collaborators of P's, such as Tyler, The Creator. Also, previous singles like "Backwards" with T.I. got a lot of love, so the whole album experience seems to have turned some folks off.

Other features on the Pharrell Williams-produced QRÖMELIFE album include Lil Baby, Yung Miami, Future, Offset, Williams himself, A$AP Rocky, and Justin Timberlake. Quavo himself has a solid number of solo cuts to play with, but even these fall victim to the beats in many fans' eyes.

Still, with a producer as legendary as Skateboard P, dips in quality don't tend to last very long. We're sure he will have more on the way that will land more solidly for hip-hop fans. Other recent Pharrell releases include "Fireflies," a collaboration with John Legend that previews their collaborative album.

Fan Reactions

Maybe this LP will fare better than QRÖMELIFE on impact. Either way, fans have a lot to say about this production run.
