Before “Baby Breath” even drops, Tyler says his verse on Quavo's "QRÖMELIFE" may be one of the 25 best verses in Rap history.

Calling your own verse the best of your career is already a strong sales pitch. Putting it in the top 25 rap verses ever takes considerably more nerve. Tyler, The Creator did both while hyping his appearance on Quavo’s “Baby Breath,” one of the collaborations arriving with QRÖMELIFE on October 2.

“My best verse of all time is on this (prolly top 25 in rap history),” Tyler wrote while promoting the track. “What I did to the English language is insane and shall be studied. 10/10. Real grown man bars.” Pitchfork reports that the song also features Pharrell Williams and A$AP Rocky, giving Quavo one of the album's more unexpected combinations.

Tyler Is Setting The Bar Extremely High Before Release

“Baby Breath” appears fifth on the 14-track QRÖMELIFE, which Pharrell also executive produced. Quavo previously described the album as a project made while he was still processing Takeoff’s death and trying to work his way through that grief. The guest list stretches across several corners of Hip Hop and R&B, but Tyler’s boasting has already made his verse one of the most anticipated moments on the record.

Moreover, Tyler has never been especially shy about his own work, but “top 25 in Rap history” is the kind of statement that invites listeners to come prepared with scorecards. Whether he was completely serious or enjoying the exaggeration, he made sure the verse wouldn't arrive quietly.

Quavo, meanwhile, is using QRÖMELIFE to bring several big names into the same room. Offset appears on “Away,” while Future, Lil Baby, Yung Miami, and Justin Timberlake also contribute elsewhere on the project.
