It’s been quite the week for Jacquees, who found himself locked up in a Florida jail over the weekend. The R&B singer was arrested for DUI and Battery but has now been released from the Broward County Main Jail on $3,500 bail on Monday, according to All Hip Hop. As part of his conditions, Jacquees must refrain from alcohol and drugs.
The 32-year-old singer was hit with DUI, battery on an officer, and resisting an officer without violence charges after police said they found him passed out behind the wheel of his vehicle. They said that they found him unresponsive in the car at an intersection in Hollywood, FL. Apparently, they tried to wake him up on several occasions, but when that didn’t work, firefighters were required to break the passenger-side window.
Police said that they smelled alcohol on the Mood 2 singer and that he became combative with first responders when they tried to take him to the hospital. That’s when they claimed he struck a cop in the arm before a cop hit him in the face ahead of his arrest.
Jacquees Is Confident That The Charges Against Him Will Be Dropped
But Jacquees pushed back against the police’s account of what happened. After his release, he told reporters that they started putting hands on him after he told them that he didn’t want to go to jail. However, he denied that he ever resisted physically. “What’s resisting like saying, like, ‘Man, don’t lock me up.’ Oh, yeah. I definitely told them don’t lock me up. Not physically,” he said.
