Earlier this morning, we reported that R&B singer Jacquees was arrested on Sunday in Broward County. He was subsequently transferred to Broward County Jail and charged with driving under the influence, battery of an officer, firefighter, or EMT, and resisting arrest without violence.
At the time of the arrest, it was unclear what had gone down to warrant these charges. All that was known is that the singer had been arrested and remained in jail ahead of his bond hearing.
According to WSVN 7News, Hollywood Police claim they received a call on Sunday morning around 8 AM EST. It was said that a man was sleeping in his car around the intersection of North 62nd Avenue and Hollywood Boulevard. When first responders arrived on the scene, they tried to take Jacquees to the hospital. However, he became combative, which then led to his arrest.
Jacquees Remains In Jail...For Now
During this morning's hearing, Jacquees' bond was set at $3500. However, he is not in the clear just yet. The artist must first go through the paperwork process before officially being released. He is expected to leave the Broward County jail in short order.
As we explained this morning, this is not Jacquees' first run-in with the authorities. Back in 2018, he dealt with traffic violations in Miami and Atlanta. Both led to arrests, although the Atlanta situation was much more serious, as he was caught driving at speeds of 116 MPH. Furthermore, in 2023, he was accused of choking and biting a woman in Georgia, which led to a battery arrest.
