A domestic battery charge has placed Famous Dex back in custody in Nevada as more information about the alleged incident is awaited.

A domestic battery arrest has put Famous Dex back in custody, with Clark County booking records showing the rapper was taken into custody in Las Vegas on Sunday, August 23. The record, filed under his legal name Dexter Gore, lists battery/domestic violence as the reported charge.

Few details about the alleged incident have surfaced publicly. TMZ did not report what led to the arrest or identify the person involved, and Dex’s representatives had not responded to their request for comment as of Tuesday. The outlet reported that he remained jailed in Vegas when its story was published. Moreover, additional information about the circumstances surrounding the case has not yet been disclosed.

Previous Run-Ins With The Law

The new charge carries added context because Dex previously faced domestic-violence-related cases in Los Angeles. In March 2021, prosecutors charged him with 19 counts connected to three separate incidents. Two involved allegations of violence against former partners, while another stemmed from a traffic stop in which police said they discovered a loaded firearm. The charges included domestic violence and firearm offenses, among other allegations.

Dex pleaded not guilty to those charges during a June 2021 court appearance. He was taken into custody during that hearing after authorities alleged he had violated a protective order issued in connection with one of the previous domestic violence cases. A judge set bond at $200,000 at the time.

In September 2021, Dex had been sentenced to 364 days in a Los Angeles jail, with credit given for time already served. His current Nevada arrest is separate from those California proceedings. As of Tuesday (August 25) afternoon, no additional details about the alleged domestic incident or Dex’s next court appearance had been publicly reported.
