Drake and Kanye West have certainly had their issues with one another over the years. These issues were particularly prevalent between 2018 and 2021, with Ye going on numerous Twitter rants about his former rival. Drake's feud with Pusha T was also taking place during this time, which certainly added fuel to the fire.
Eventually, the two patched things up and even performed together at the Free Larry Hoover Benefit Concert. Since that time, neither side has really acknowledged the other. Ye has made some tweets about the Drake and Kendrick Lamar feud, although beyond that, there is no sense that these two are even in communication anymore.
Despite this, Drake made a supportive gesture towards Ye on Tuesday as West's mother, Dr. Donda West, had a street named after her in Chicago. As we reported, Ye attended the street sign unveiling and even visited his childhood home afterward. Below, you will see that Drake liked a video of the street sign ceremony on Instagram.
Drake Shows Rare Love To Ye
It is a small gesture, but a significant one, especially when you consider what these artists have been through. They were frequent collaborators, with Drake writing hits for Ye. Then, they became bitter rivals. Now, they are back on friendly terms. That said, given Ye's controversial nature, it doesn't seem likely that we will ever get another collaboration from the two.
Ultimately, it is an unfortunate reality. Regardless, it is nice to see that Drake still acknowledges the man and his family, despite everything they have gone through.
It's a big time for both artists, especially with Drake planning a world tour in 2027. As for Ye, he is currently on his world tour, as he puts on some of the biggest stage shows of his career.
