Flight Club is bringing a serious wave of Nike Kobe pairs to three cities this month. Entries open August 12th and run through Flight Club's retail drawings in Los Angeles, New York, and Miami.
August 24th has carried meaning in Kobe Bryant's legacy for years, tied directly to the No. 8 and No. 24 he wore across his Lakers career. Flight Club's lineup leans into that connection with a mix of general drawings and city-exclusive pairs.
All three Flight Club locations will offer the Kobe 5 Protro "Dodgers" and Kobe 6 Protro "Dodgers," each priced at $190. The Kobe 8 Protro "Year of the Horse" is also available at every store for $180. One standout is the Kobe 1 Protro "81 Points," with a single winner getting the rare chance to purchase it for $8.24, a nod to Kobe's iconic scoring night.
Each city also gets its own exclusive pair. Los Angeles offers the Kobe 8 "Fade To Black," Miami has the Kobe 6 Protro "Think Pink," and New York gets the Jalen Brunson x Kobe 5 Protro "NY vs. NY." Entries can be submitted online or in person at participating stores, with winners notified by email on August 21st and pickup starting August 24th.
Flight Club's Nike Kobe Drawing
Kobe's connection to the number 8 and 24 makes late August a natural moment for releases like this every year. Flight Club pairing that date with a run of Protro drawings keeps the tradition alive across multiple cities at once.
The mix of team-inspired colorways stands out here too. Both Dodgers pairs tap into Kobe's well-documented love for the team. Also the "Year of the Horse" pulls from Chinese zodiac symbolism tied to earlier Kobe releases.
City-exclusive pairs add another layer for collectors chasing something harder to find. The Brunson collaboration in New York and "Fade To Black" in LA both carry extra weight given their local ties.
For a legacy this deep, releases like these are less about hype and more about keeping the story going. Every colorway in Flight Club's lineup connects back to a different chapter of Kobe's career.
