The proud, lyrically proficient New Yorker known as Your Old Droog is back with his first new track since March's "Just Rhymin'," a collab with Joey Bada$$ and Styles P. His new one, "White Rappers," is a response to Lord Jamar's infamous spiel on the same subject -- namely that white people are "guests in the house of hip-hop."

VERY HOTTTTT
After absolutely ripping up the live instrumentation on Complex’s CityCypher, Your Old Droog shares a snippet of “DYLAN!” This is actually the CDQ recording of the second half of his cypher verse, and it’s awesome to hear Droog’s potent lyricism in full clarity.

HOTTTTT
Your Old Droog is an unapologetic traditionalist, to the point that there was an early conspiracy theory that he was actually Nas using another alternative pseudonym. Being the 90s-obsessive that he is, Alchemist is a good match for him, and the two come through with some nostalgia on "Hip-Hop Head," which finds Droog meeting up with a girl who knows her rap, at one point reciting Inspectah Deck's "Triumph" verse during a sexual encounter.

Statik Selektah brought together a gang of emcees for his latest cut. Featuring emcees form New York City, New England and Upstate New York, “The Curve” is an classic sounding cut. It starts out with Westside Gunn and Conway exchanging bars before Your Old Droog and Termanology get into a succession of stanzas.

New York rapper Your Old Droog takes us back to an earlier era in New York, when he used to kick it at “forty deuce,” the New Yorker’s affectionate name for Times Square. He shouts out a ton of recognizable spots around the tourist trap, including The Hard Rock Cafe and Grey’s Papaya. If you’ve ever been to New York City, this’ll take you back.
Basketball & Seinfeld

VERY HOTTTTT
Your Old Droog knows basketball. He also knows Seinfeld. He combines his two passions in a remarkable new song called "Basketball & Seinfeld." "This song is stupid. #ballislife," writes Droog.  Produced by Droog himself, "Basketball & Seinfeld" samples a song called "Seinwave." The beat sounds like a cross between the Seinfeld theme song and the Beverly Hills Cop theme song.

With Joey Chestnut no longer the Nathan's Hot Dog champion of the world, the biggest name out of Coney Island is none other than Your Old Droog. After dropping of "The Dustiest" last week, he returns with a mean track called "Mr. Goodbar," linking up with Chicago's DJ Rude One for the production. The track is slated to appear on Rude One's ONEderful project due out in 2016.

Is Your Old Droog the dustiest? He claims the title for himself, as well as title of "the ugliest" on "The Dustiest," which appears on his self-titled EP that he's been selling at shows. For those who haven't copped it or heard it yet, you can now stream the song on these internets. Droog, like a few other New York rappers, has taken it upon himself to instil some old school flavored hip-hop in our ears, and he keeps on with that mission on the trumpet-filled "Dustiest," which definitely has a vinyl-esque feel to it.

We're at a point where nostalgia no longer applies solely to 90s hip-hop. Your Old Droog, who's young enough to have been introduced to rap in the 00s, has decided to reflect on the good ol' days of the early aughts on his new freestyle. Reminiscing on the "tall tee rap" of yore, Droog remembers reading XXL Magazine, listening to Hot 97 and the like.

"Tell Your Friends" is one of the hottest songs off The Weeknd's Beauty Behind the Madness. After Drake remixed it a few days ago, the homie Your Old Droog thought he'd try his hand at the song, in an effort officially known as "Tell Your Friends (5K Titty Mix)."

Your Old Droog
VERY HOTTTTT
Your Old Droog had a fair amount of mystique around him when he first emerged, but in the internet age, that kind of anonymity is difficult to uphold, and it wasn't long before the curtains were pulled open. Still, even without the mystery, the skill is still present, and Droog's upcoming EP, The Nicest, remains a highly anticipated release. On his new record, "We Don't Know You", he still sounds a hell of a lot like Nas, but like Action Bronson's likening to Ghostface before him, that association will melt away with time.

Your Old Droog reunites with DJ Skizz today, who handled some production on his Kinison EP in February, for the very funky and jazz-influenced "Senseless Killn' II." The New York rapper is going to be taking his talents to other parts of the world after developing a strong internet buzz/following ("nowadays Droog has more interest than Blue Grass..."), with his upcoming #EuroDROOG tour.

UK producers have become increasingly inspired by American hip hop over the last few years, and The Purist one of quite a few who's been reaching out to rising rappers for overseas collaborations. He certainly has good taste, teaming up with Danny Brown, Tree, and Mick Jenkins in the past, and today he's announced his upcoming project, Pyrex Scholar, which will surely run with the same formula.

Much of the mystery surrounding Your Old Droog has died down, with rumors that he is Nas being debunked, and his first video interview with Sway in the Morning. However the buzz for the underground Coney Island MC is still alive, and today he decides to premiere a new record, using a news article from NY Times' Jon Caramanica as the cover art. Dude definitely has the critics on lock.

As he makes gritty, lyrically-focused boom-bap, Your Old Droog is the type of dude (or rather, droog) who'd you'd expect to ask where all the "real hip-hop" went. Well, on his new track "Porno For Pyros," he's instead asking "what happened to all the good rock?"
