Lil Pump celebrates his 17th Birthday Party at Ace Of Diamonds on August 17, 2017 in West Hollywood, California.

Lil Pump "Gucci Gang" is inching for the number one spot.

Lil Pump is the viral sensation who's slowly becoming one of the most prominent figures among the younger generation of rappers. Despite the fact that many old heads consider him to be the catalyst to hip hop's downfall in 2017, the rapper just can't help but prosper through it all. The release of his self-titled mixtape in October garnered co-signs from some of hip hop's biggest names. Now, the lead single off the project "Gucci Gang" has taken over, regardless of your opinion on it. It's already broken some records but the virality of the song might help Lil Pump reach the top of the charts.

Lil Pump's "Gucci Gang" has propelled itself from number 12 on the Billboard 100 to number 3. It's a major feat for the young South Florida rapper. The single recently became the shortest song to make its way onto the charts since 1975. The rapper's single runs only one second short Dickie Goodman's 1975 single "Mr. Jaws" that runs at two minutes and three seconds. At the pace Pump's moving, it wouldn't be surprising to see him at number one. The only song's that are in his way right now are Camila Cabella and Young Thug's "Havana" that's sitting at number 2 and Post Malone and 21 Savage's "Rockstar" which has maintained it's position at the top of the charts for more than a few weeks at this point.

Aside from this. upon the release The Lil Pump Tape the "Gucci Gang" rapper's also made a mark on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip Hop chart and the Top Rap Albums charts at number 2 while also selling 46K within it's first week. He also topped the Billboard's Emerging Artist chart once the tape dropped.

Pump's still keeping things going right now. Shortly after dropping his mixtape, he announced that he's working on the follow up to it. Along with that, he and Lil Yachty announced a joint project together with the possibility of a co-headlining tour together. While the details on their project hasn't been confirmed yet, Yachty recently played a new collab between the two on his Twitch live stream. Hopefully that comes at the top of the year.
