J. Cole just got a lot off his chest on Twitter today. While the main purpose of sharing some thoughts on the platform was to call for an NFL boycott, the rapper also shared some advice for Cardi in advance of her new album. "I seen your breakfast club interview, loved it," he said. 'Don't put all that pressure on your album. You already won. Just drop & repeat."

Cole is likely referring to Cardi's comment about wanting her album to live up to "Bodak Yellow," a song has steadily climbed the charts and is now sitting at No. 2 on the Hot 100. “I wanted to drop next month,” she said. “Every single time I think, 'I got all the 10 songs,' I’m like, 'I’m buggin’. These ain’t it.' It’s just like, 'Damn! I’m competing with myself. I’m competing with the goddamn No. 2 record and stuff.'"

It didn't take long for Cardi to catch wind of Cole's tweet, and while she was initially in disbelief, she seemed honored and relieved to hear what he had to say. "Is this real :') Son my heart is smiling," she wrote on Twitter. "Well who am I not to take J cole advice." She also posted a short response on Instagram. "Wow 😳 I can't believe this !!!Thank you. The support and love I get it's really a blessing."

As we know, Cole is someone who has been known to put a lot of pressure on himself. He wrote a whole song about letting Nas down after all. However, in recent years he seems to have made an effort to stop letting expectations get to him. Last year, Cole shared some similar advice to Wale in a verse on "False Prophets."

"Always worried ‘bout the critics who ain’t ever fuckin’ did it/I write what’s in my heart, don’t give a fuck who fuckin’ with it," he rapped, before admitting he's also found himself getting in his own way. "But in a sense I can relate, the need to be great / Turns into an obsession keeps a n---a up late."

Cardi is looking at a potential No. 1 on the Hot 100 next week, though it will be a tight battle between herself, Taylor Swift, and Post Malone. At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter because like Cole said, she already won.
