In 2021, Madonna shocked fans and critics alike by debuting a new look. The singer is no stranger to reinventing herself, but this was not a reinvention anyone expected. In an appearance at the MTV VMAs, Madonna walked on stage in S&M gear and a trenchcoat. Immediately, there was a noticeable difference. The pop diva, who had previously been aging fairly gracefully, now appeared bloated and unnaturally smooth. During the appearance, she stripped off the trench coat and turned around to reveal a very clearly surgically enhanced behind. Madonna's new face and body were the talk of the night.
Since then, not much has changed. The singer herself said that the swelling in her face was going down, but she looks much the same as she has for the last two years. Madonna's look is still quite jarring, particularly for those who have followed her career for some time. It does seem that she has changed her lifestyle to match the younger look, however. Since the reveal, she has been romantically linked to many younger men. Madonna has never shied away from dating younger, but the last few years seem to have been a never-ending parade of models and artists a third her age.
Madonna Allegedly Regrets Procedures
According to a new Instagram post by The Jasmine Brand, Madonna may be trying to undo as many of the surgical procedures as she can. "A source... claims Madonna is pursuing a cosmetic procedure to restore more of her natural facial features," the post said. "The reports note that... many fans [expressed] disappointment over the singer’s apparent altered face." This news comes after Madonna was trolled online for her appearance at this year's Grammy Awards. The singer blamed the criticism she received on ageism. Now, it seems that she may actually agree with her critics behind the scenes.
Until recent years, Madonna seemed to be one of the few stars that planned to age gracefully. Now, the 64-year-old seems desperate to keep up with her younger counterparts.
