After splitting from 23-year-old Andrew Darnell, Madonna is boo'd up once again with another man in his 20's. Josh Popper, a 29-year-old boxing coach in New York City, was training the Queen of Pop's son at his gym, Bredwinners, as reported by the Daily Mail. Madonna allegedly started dating Popper right after her breakup with the young model/skateboarder, which was initially reported in February.
The 64-year-old icon noted in a 2017 interview with Harper's Bazaar, “I’ve created a very unconventional family. I have lovers who are three decades younger than me. This makes people very uncomfortable. I feel like everything I do makes people feel really uncomfortable." Evidently, the "Material Girl" singer could care less about what other people think.
Madonna's Alleged Romance May Just Be A Stunt
The hunky trainer rumored to be Madonna's next young lover is also an up-and-coming fighter in the heavyweight category. His next fight will take place this Friday (March 3rd), where he'll compete in the Ring Masters Tournament semi-finals. Popper, who is also a former NFL athlete, recently made a feature in Bravo's Summer House. The reality TV series captures a group of affluent friends from New York who share a vacation home during the summer. Popper was invited on the trip as the trainer of businesswoman Samantha Feher. While the idea of love did circulate for Feher, they eventually did not pursue anything.
Although Popper has already taken to Instagram to showcase his interest in Madonna, it is possible that their love may just be a publicity stunt. The post, which shares a cozy pic of the duo ringside, was captioned, "I got some good people by my side." Page Six shares that a close friend of Madonna revealed how the Popper rumors were just a way for his gym to garner attention. The source also reports how the singer “isn’t looking for love at the moment," though they add, “that’s not to rule out any romance in the future — but for now things are strictly platonic.” With rumors still circulating about the pair, it still remains unclear if the couple is actually romantically involved.
