Social media went into a frenzy yesterday after the latest episode of The Joe Budden Podcast was released. A clip of the show’s hosts immediately went viral as they shared their thoughts on Michael B. Jordan’s heated exchange with podcaster Lore’l. The actor-director called out his former schoolmate during a red carpet interview for allegedly calling him corny back in 2021. While Melyssa Ford, Ice, Ish, Parks, and Queenz Flip all chimed in on the matter, it was Joe Budden’s comments that sent people over the edge.
In episode 606, Budden barks on Michael B. Jordan for how he treated Lore’l during their run-in. “You[‘ve] probably never been more visible than you are right this second, and that’s what you do to her,” he expresses. Joe also calls the Creed III star zesty and “a corny a** n***a” prior to bringing up his dating history. “And if I bring back those White girl rumors, then it’s gonna sound even crazier, ‘cause why are you talking to our sisters like that on the red carpet?” This is where spectators chimed in, calling the former lyricist a hypocrite as they reflected back on Joe’s own chaotic past. “‘You n***as think money hides corny’ is a spot on description of joe budden ironically,” says one user.

Other tweeters called him out for his abusive relationship with model ex-girlfriend Tahiry Jose. @Relly_95 tweets: “Joe Budden calling Michael B Jordan Corny for how he reacted to the girl who took shots at him when he was younger is hilarious considering man [gave] Tahiry two black eyes.” Joe’s former lover aired him out and shared her assault stories in a 2020 interview with Hollywood Unlocked.
Irregardless, Joe continues to stand on his statement, asking people to back off in a recent Instagram Story. In it, Budden writes: “If any other Black multimillionaire embarrassed a woman working on a red carpet cuz she thought he was corny in 7th grade y’all would call him a lot more than corny.” Lore’l has since denied calling Michael B. Jordan corny, admitting it was her podcast cohost Dominique Da Diva. The two were discussing his past relationship with socialite Lori Harvey when she said, “We all know the nice, corny guys treat you the best.”
