Snoop Dogg's recent retro-funk album Neva Left has been met with mixed reviews, but one music writer is calling him out for supposed anti-gay vibes in a music video.
Columnist for The Guardian Ben Beaumont-Thomas gets quite critical of Snoop's video for the song Moment I Feared, which he calls "openly homophobic" and "worse than unfunny." In the video, Snoop is interviewing a fictional rapper by the name of Fonz D-Lo, a character that is an overt caricature of Atlanta rapper Young Thug, according to the author. He claims that the veteran rapper is taking thinly-veiled homophobic shots at Young Thug by making several sex-related puns and making his effeminate qualities the but of the joke.
Interestingly, this isn't the first time Snoop Dogg has been seen as a homophobe. According to the author, in 2014, he told two gay men on Instagram to "go suck ya man n get off my line f. A. G."
