This morning, 50 Cent stopped by the Boomer & Carton radio show on WFAN New York to chop it up about New York sports as well as his notorious first pitch at a 2014 Mets game. During the conversation, though, 50 revealed that, earlier this year, he and Eminem missed out on a potentially lucrative musical opportunity, as they apparently passed on recording the track "See You Again" for the "Furious 7" soundtrack. The single was ultimately picked up by Wiz Khalifa and young singer Charlie Puth, both whom achieved stunning success with their Paul Walker tribute.
50 Cent explained Eminem turned down the opportunity because he wanted to instead focus on producing the soundtrack to "Southpaw," which was released on Shady Records and to which both Em and 50 contributed. 50 also starred in the film.
"See You Again" placed at No. 1 on the Billboard 100 for a total of 12 non-consecutive weeks. In October of last year, the music video became the first hip-hop video to ever attain 1 billion views on YouTube.
