2019 NBA All Star uniforms call back to the 1991 ASG in Charlotte.
The first portion of NBA All Stars were revealed last night, as the Los Angeles Lakers' LeBron James and Milwaukee Bucks' Giannis Antetokounmpo were named captains for the upcoming All Star Draft on February 7.
LeBron will be jonied by the following All Star starters from the Western Conference: Stephen Curry, James Harden, Paul George and Kevin Durant. The Eastern Conference consists of Kemba Walker, Kyrie Irving, Kawhi Leonard and Joel Embiid.
In addition to the announcement of All Star captains and starters, Jordan Brand also revealed the 2019 All Star uniforms last night. Similar to last year's All Star attire, the uniforms come in black and white with a red and blue trim and detailing as a nod to the last time the All Star Game was played in Charlotte back in 1991.
“With the game being in Charlotte, we were presented with a great opportunity to look at the rich history of the city and its many connections to our brand. You see this come together with the 1991 inspiration combined with the clean black and white design language,” says Jordan Brand Vice President of Design David Creech.
According to Nike, as a tribute to the host team, the uniform shorts include a 1991-inspired logo on the waist and side, a honeycomb pattern integrated into the NBA star logo and crowns for "Queen City" on the vents. The uniform also uses a military-inspired stencil font for the player names and numbers, tapping into the flight heritage of North Carolina.
Captains and starter versions of the 2019 Jordan Brand NBA All-Star Edition Authentic and Swingman jerseys are available on nike.com and at select retailers. Reserve player jerseys will release January 31.
