Now, with word of Culture 3 fast approaching, Mustard has reconvened the Meegs under a singular banner once again. This time, he's cooked up some "Pure Water," distilled, filtered, and far from room temperature. Lacing a banging, organ-driven instrumental, Mustard plays to the group's strengths by keeping the formula simple; there's nothing wrong with a dope beat and the signature Migos flow.
Speaking with Zane Lowe, Mustard opened up about crafting the beat with the trifecta in mind. "Yeah, it was always Migos. At first it was just a song me and Quavo came up with, and then I was like, "No, I gotta get the whole gang on here." We worked our way to get everybody on there and it was ... I knew what it was when I first heard it though." Zane proceeds to express admiration for Takeoff, whom he dubs the "assassin" of the group. Mustard endorses the statement, but makes it clear that Quavo holds utmost importance as the "tone-setter."
