Rapper Melii's social media rise and debut album phAses has landed her an official co-sign from Rihanna and now a partnership with Fenty. Last year, Rihanna uploaded a Snapchat video of herself while Melii's song "Icey" was playing in the background. It was a major nod for the up-and-coming artist who told Billboard last September that the news caused her to freak out.

"I was going through a breakdown [at the time] and cut my hair off that same day," she said. "When I went to the phone to check my texts, the right side of my hair still wasn’t cut off! I went to check [Rihanna’s Instagram] and saw her looking fire while my song is playing in the background. I still had the scissors in my hand, and I started crying. Then I started dancing. There were so many emotions at once!"

Since then, Melii has solidified a spot in Rihanna's kingdom, landing a feature in a Fenty ad that she recently shared on Instagram. "So MELIIMOB I highkey got chosen to write a lil some some for @fentybeauty," she wrote. "Badgyallll @badgalriri dropped her new bronzer 'b***h u know that I’m gon cop' 🤷🏽‍♀️‼️‼️super blessed ! And GRATEFUL ! BLESSING PON BLESSINGS."

It's good to see Melii with some good news considering she recently received backlash on social media after signing with Tory Lanez's One Umbrella. There wouldn't be an issue with whomever Melii inked a deal with, but because Meek Mill was reportedly helping to guide her career for months with the hopes of singing her to his team, he thought it was a "corny ass move."

Melii explained her position in a statement. "My decision with going with Umbrella was based [off] an offer that was already there from years ago n wanting to better my craft n where I felt i belonged," she said.
