The Air Jordan 3 “Knicks” is almost ready to land in people’s hands. New images have surfaced, and pairs ordered during the pre-order are expected to start shipping in December.
Jordan Brand first put the shoe up for pre-order on June 18th for $215, right as New York celebrated the Knicks’ championship parade. The pre-order sold out quickly.
Overall, the design stays close to the 2019 original. White leather covers most of the upper, with a grey cement-style print on the toe and heel, orange on the midsole, and royal blue on the collar.
The biggest change is on the inside. The inner tongue now reads “06.13.26,” the date the Knicks won their third championship. It replaces the “04.08.88” date from the 2019 pair.
A sticker sheet is also included in the box. It features Knicks graphics, a subway train, a yellow taxi, and a basketball hoop. The style code is JU1525-148.
For now, only the people who pre-ordered will have the first chance to wear them. Everyone else will have to wait and see if more pairs arrive. The shoe also uses a shape closer to the 1988 original
Air Jordan 3 “Knicks”
The Knicks won their first championship in 53 years by beating the Spurs in five games, and this shoe is a lasting piece of that moment.
The date on the tongue makes it more than a simple restock. It turns a classic colorway into a championship keepsake.
Jordan Brand has a lot more planned for New York. The Air Jordan 8 “Knicks” arrives on Christmas Eve, and the Air Jordan 10 “Knicks” is expected in 2027.
The colorway also fits Michael Jordan’s own history with the city. Spike Lee called Michael Jordan as Mars Blackmon right after the Knicks won the title, which showed how much the moment meant to everyone involved.
For fans who missed the pre-order, the resale market is likely the only option for now. Knicks pairs have a loyal fan base, so demand should stay high.
