Lil Durk could be home soon, at least while he awaits trial. Ever since he beat his murder-for-hire case, there has been plenty of speculation about whether his racketeering-related charges will stand. It’s too early to say, but the flood of support he’s received lately indicates a strong likelihood that he could make bail.
This week, his team formally filed documents for his pre-trial release, which includes an offer of future music earnings, per Kurrco. Bundled in the $3.3M bond package offer is the property equity from his two homes in Georgia worth $2.3M and another $1M guaranteed from Sony Music. Durk also signed off on providing music royalties, future touring revenue, merchandise revenue, and publishing rights as collateral.
Lil Durk's Bond Proposal & Support From J. Cole & JAŸ-Z
Sony wasn’t the only entity in the music industry to show support for Durk’s release. JAŸ-Z, J. Cole, and Michael Rubin were among those who shared letters in support of Durk.
“I met Durk several years ago. He was kind, respectful and focused on his career. He approached his work with seriousness and discipline. He was also genuinely curious about deepening his spirituality, and he spoke about faith as something he wanted to grow in, not something he wore for show. What stood out most to me was how he used his success. Durk was signing young artist from his community,” Hov wrote. “I do not minimize the seriousness of the charges Durk faces, and I respect the Court's obligation to protect the community. However, Durk has now spent nearly two years in custody with his remaining trial not set to begin until August 2027. Release would allow him to support his family and continue the work in his community that I saw firsthand.”
We will continue to keep you posted on any further updates on Lil Durk. His VICAR trial is set for August 30th, 2027.
