Nike is reportedly preparing a jewel-inspired Air Foamposite One for next year. It is called the "Ruby," and it is expected to drop on April 15th, 2027.
The pair is said to be a women's exclusive, and the style code is JF2604-600. Reports point to a price of $240 to $250.
Nothing has been confirmed by Nike. The news comes from @zSneakerHeadz and Sneaker Market Romania, and the images going around are speculative mock-ups.
The idea is simple but bold. Instead of a plain red shell, the molded upper is covered in a repeating ruby gemstone print. It gives the shoe somewhat of a bedazzled look without any real stones.
The base colors are red and black. In the mock-ups, black covers the collar, laces, and heel pulls, while red takes over the rest. The red shows up on the Swoosh and outsole too.
It is expected to be available through SNKRS and select Nike Sportswear retailers. Sizing is reportedly women's only. Overall, it is a fun and attention-grabbing take on one of Nike's strangest shapes. The Foamposite has always been about standing out. If the final pair looks anything like the mock-up, it could be a hit.
Nike Air Foamposite One "Ruby"
The Air Foamposite One turns 30 in 2027, so Nike has big plans. The shoe first arrived in February 1997 as Penny Hardaway's signature model. Designer Eric Avar built it by pouring liquid material into a mold, which was also a huge breakthrough at the time.
The "Ruby" is one of several new graphic pairs reported for the anniversary. A Realtree camo pattern, a star-covered design, and a pink gradient are also on the way.
Also this is not the first time the Foamposite has gone red. The "Metallic Red" came back in 2017 and again in 2023. This new version takes a very different path. More Foamposite news should arrive as 2027 gets closer. For now, the "Ruby" is one to watch.
