The warden denies responsibility.

Tory Lanez has been keeping his career up while incarcerated. However, his time behind bars has been anything but easy. If you recall, the rapper suffered a brutal assault in prison and was stabbed fourteen times by another inmate. Tory filed a $100M federal lawsuit against prison authorities for failing to care for his well-being while behind bars.

According to TMZ, the prison warden has now issued a response to Tory. California Correctional Institution Warden Thomas Valdez denied any responsibility for Tory’s injuries and claimed that they did not violate his rights.

Valdez admitted that Tory Lanez was stabbed by an inmate by the name of Santino Casio. Casio reportedly created a weapon inside the prison and was housed in the same unit as Tory. However, in the lawsuit, Tory said that they shouldn’t have been in the same unit because of Casio’s violent past.

Warden Responds To Tory Lanez

Ultimately, Tory said that the prison authorities weren’t readily available when they should have been in that moment, while alleging that the facility “deliberately” remained indifferent to violence occurring among inmates. However, Valdez claimed that he had no responsibility for it. The court filing alleges that Tory “consented to his prison housing classification and assignment and assumed any risk alleged... with that housing."

Outside of this lawsuit, Tory Lanez has been hosting listening parties in his absence. His New York City event proved to be a massive success, leading to increased demand for the other concerts and bigger venues. This past weekend, he hosted the L.A. edition, which featured Blueface, Chrisean Rock, Tyga, and more.

We will keep you posted on any further updates surrounding Tory Lanez and his $100 million federal lawsuit against the prison.
