Quavo and Takeoff dropped an absolute banger with the song "Hotel Lobby" back in 2022. This became one of their biggest hits together in the post-Offset Migos era. Unfortunately, Takeoff passed away not long after the release of the song.
During the promo run for their joint album, Quavo and Takeoff did a Colors performance of "Hotel Lobby." It subsequently became one of the biggest and most iconic Colors performances of all time.
Now, the performance is going viral again four years after the fact. However, the reasoning behind the virality is a bit more nefarious, as it involves AI and a whole lot of unfunny edits. Essentially, people are replacing Quavo and Takeoff with a bevy of different pop culture figures. The song remains the same, which begs the question: what is the joke here?
Quavo is now acknowledging the trend, as he took to X, making sure people know that he Takeoff are the originators.

We personally don't really find any of this that amusing. There is no joke, and it is just another excuse for people to waste previous resources on AI slop that serves nobody.
It also just cheapens Quavo and Takeoff's contributions, as people divorce them from the original video. Hopefully, this just leads to people running up the streams for "Hotel Lobby," which by every metric is, in fact, a great song.
