Diddy continues to face a lot of legal woes over his misconduct scandal. But some of the allegations against him will no longer hold up in court. According to an exclusive AllHipHop report from Grouchy Greg Watkins, a federal judge dismissed a 15-count lawsuit against Sean Combs accusing him of sexual assault and other crimes.
While Diddy continues to serve his prison sentence, United States District Judge Jennifer L. Rochon took another case off his docket on Friday (September 18). She ruled the lawsuit from Las Vegas entertainer Julian Sapp was filed too late in order to move forward with his allegations, accusations which the Bad Boy mogul denied.
"The limitations period therefore expired no later than approximately November 2022, more than two years before Sapp commenced this action," Judge Rochon reportedly wrote in the dismissal motion's approval. Sapp claimed his last in-person encounter with Puff was in November of 2012, and he launched his lawsuit in February of 2025.
Sapp claimed Combs' alleged threats and power prevented an earlier filing, but the judge argued he failed to show due diligence concerning his legal rights. Some of Sapp's claims included forced labor, sex trafficking, sexual battery and assault, false imprisonment, emotional distress, unjust enrichment, breach of contract, and invasion of privacy. The accuser may be able to pursue one of the dismissed claims in New York court. In that case, authorities must review if it falls under New York City’s Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Law.
When Is Diddy Getting Out Of Jail?
Sapp had claimed he met Puff in 2007 after an agency hired him as an adult entertainer at a Vegas hotel. Under alleged false pretenses of a music career, Sapp accused him of forcing sexual encounters, drugging him, taking his phone, blocking exits, threateningly brandishing guns, and threatening to release secretly recorded sexual activity if he either refused to partake in more or tried to expose the alleged mistreatment.
Elsewhere, Diddy secured other legal wins concerning his defamation lawsuit involving NexStar. We will see if they reach a settlement or if it goes further in court.
Meanwhile, the Diddy documentary also caused controversy recently. Mark Curry clashed with Sean Combs: The Reckoning's producer 50 Cent over alleged contract issues and lack of proper credit. So even those in Puff's orbit who aren't the man himself continue to face flare-ups over this whole situation.
While this lawsuit from Julian Sapp is no more, Combs still has a lot on his plate. His prison release date is currently scheduled for February 5, 2028. We'll see what else happens in the meantime.
