Diddy continues to stack controversies on top of each other, with more recent chapters involving his alleged contraband and fights behind bars. But an exclusive report from AllHipHop indicates he is also facing drama with his own legal team, who want to exit a sexual assault lawsuit due to alleged lack of payment on his behalf.
Sher Tremonte LLP took to court on Thursday (October 15) to allege via a filing that Sean Combs hasn't paid the law firm in over seven months. Michael Tremonte, a partner in the case, also sought permission to hold the Bad Boy mogul's files until the firm gets its payment. While the declaration didn't disclose the amount Combs allegedly owes, it claimed "his last payment related to fees and expenses that were incurred in late 2025. Accordingly, a substantial portion of the total overdue balance consists of invoices that are over 90 days in arrears."
"In addition to Mr. Combs’s refusal to pay in accordance with the express terms of his agreement to do so, there has been a total breakdown in cooperation and communication between Mr. Combs and the Firm," the filing alleged. "Mr. Combs has declined to make himself available for timely, substantive, and direct communications about his cases for over four months."
Diddy faces similar accusations from his legal team regarding his defamation case with NexStar and his Lil Rod case.
Diddy Lawsuit
For those unaware, Diddy's sexual assault lawsuit at the center of this is from Thalia Graves. She accused Combs and Joseph Sherman in September of 2024, alleging they drugged and sexually assaulted her in 2001 at a New York studio and recorded the crime. They denied Graves' allegations.
Sher Tremonte LLP reportedly argued the replacement of counsel in the Thalia Graves case wouldn't lead to delays. This is because of its ongoing appeal process that could open the door to dismissal, and the staying of the case means the legal team can exit more smoothly.
Sher Tremonte LLP also reportedly sought to exit Diddy's Lil Rod case and his dispute over the Diddy: The Making Of A Bad Boy documentary. Combs reportedly claimed lawyers tried to charge him for work he never approved, characterizing their claims as a business dispute.
