Diddy has dealt with a whirlwind of legal trouble over the past few years, and it doesn't seem like things will get any easier. During his prison stay for his federal convictions of transporting prostitutes across state lines, he's countersuing Rodney "Lil Rod" Jones, who accused Sean Combs of sexual assault.
According to an exclusive AllHipHop report from Grouchy Greg Watkins, Combs' legal team filed counterclaims on Tuesday (August 11) in Lil Rod's $30 million case. Via his lawyers, he denied Jones' claims in the 50 Cent-executive-produced The Recknoning doc, in which he claimed the Bad Boy mogul ordered him to procure sex workers.
"Mr. Combs never told Mr. Jones to ‘recruit sex workers,'" the defense team reportedly argued. "Mr. Combs never told Mr. Jones to put on his ‘Bad Boy hat’ and ‘get some girls to come back to the house.’ Upon information and belief, Mr. Jones had a personal proclivity for sleeping with sex workers and would hire sex workers for himself on his own accord."
Also, Diddy's counterclaims against Lil Rod dispute Rod's claim that Combs drugged him during the making of The Love Album: Off The Grid. They argued "upon information and belief" that Rod took drugs and alcohol of his own accord, and that their client never forced him to do anything.
Diddy's Lawsuits
Lil Rod's claims against Puff, the lawsuit over which has been active since February of 2024, also include sexual assault allegations. Combs is now suing Rod for defamation, but he no longer has to answer to RICO-related accusations in Rod's lawsuit which the court had severed.
Lil Rod hasn't publicly responded to these counterclaims at press time. Unless Judge J. Paul Oetken changes anything, Rod will have 21 days after service to respond, if the general rules of federal procedure apply.
Other lawsuits Diddy must deal with include coercion and trafficking claims from alleged sex worker Clayton Howard. Cassie was previously a part of that suit, but Howard may possibly have to exclude his claims about her unless he sharpens them. But with Combs behind bars, the response process for these is lengthy.
