A rare Air Jordan 14 "Night Purple" sample surfaced, made exclusively for Jordan Brand's Friends & Family circle.

A new Air Jordan 14 sample is making the rounds, and it's not headed to retail. English Sole shared detailed shots of the "Night Purple" colorway, built exclusively for Jordan Brand's Friends & Family circle.

Purple suede covers the entire upper, keeping the classic Air Jordan 14 shape intact from the toe to heel. Black detailing runs through the tongue, laces, liner, and toe, giving the shoe some contrast against all that suede.

Gold and yellow hit the Ferrari-inspired side badge, midfoot shank, and outsole. Carbon-fiber-style paneling wraps the midsole and heel too, playing into the model's racing-inspired roots and tying the whole build back to its motorsport influence. A bold red tongue adds one more pop of color, keeping the design from feeling too one-note despite the heavy purple base.

Also a note packed with the pair reportedly calls it a "members-only expression," reserved strictly for people close to the Jordan family. Overall a bublic release isn't expected for this one at all, so most fans will only ever see it through photos like these.

This isn't the first purple version of the Jordan 14 "Ferrari" to surface either. Nigel Sylvester recently previewed a similar purple sample built to honor the WNBA, also kept within that same inner circle.

Jordan Brand's Friends & Family releases have picked up noticeably this year. The Air Jordan 3 "Graffiti" pack also joined that same exclusive list not too long ago. This only adds to a growing run of pairs regular fans will likely never get a shot at.

These unreleased pairs tend to generate plenty of buzz despite never hitting shelves. Part of that comes from how rare actual sightings are in the first place, along with the mystery around who actually receives them.

For collectors who track Jordan Brand's more obscure releases, pairs like this "Night Purple" 14 remain some of the most sought-after to simply see, even without any shot at owning one.
