One of the most divisive Drake tracks on ICEMAN was "2 Hard 4 The Radio" due to its West Coast bounce following the Kendrick Lamar battle, plus various disses. The Bay Area homage to Mac Dre immediately sparked West Coast loyalty debates concerning the Bay and Los Angeles, especially since the Bay's P-Lo helped produce the song. Now, Glasses Malone is reigniting the debate after he pressed P-Lo over the phone during Lo's Back On Figg podcast appearance.
Basically, Glasses' argument is that P-Lo sold out against the West Coast via this move. He said the whole West Coast should stand together against enemies, but Lo said he wasn't in the studio with Drizzy and wasn't aware of the disses. P-Lo also said he's just in the music business and has a direct relationship with folks like E-40, not with K.Dot. Curiously, 40 narrated "The Pop Out," which led to more debates.
P-Lo maintained his pro-Bay stance, and the debate devolved into whether or not personal relationships (or the lack thereof, in this case) should still lead to solidarity in feuds like these. While the debate continues to rage on via social media, the two superstars at the center of this debate haven't said a peep.
Glasses Malone Calls P-Lo Out
As for Drake, he might have other feuds to attend to now. A new snippet allegedly featuring Pusha T sending shots at him surfaced online this weekend. It formed part of a wider alleged album leak of his project with Pharrell. However, while many fans clowned it outright, many others believe it's an AI fabrication.
Meanwhile, Kendrick Lamar is focused on other West Coast artists right now, namely the release of the new AZ Chike album No Rest For The Wicked. Kendrick advised Chike throughout its creation, although it didn't manifest into a feature placement like many fans had hoped.
We will see if Glasses Malone and P-Lo eventually reach an understanding over this and if the West Coast debates around the Bay Area and Los Angeles resume. It's been a whirlwind so far, but it will probably die down eventually with more reflection and time.
