AZ Chike was one of various West Coast guests on GNX by Kendrick Lamar, a huge cosign he has now capitalized on fully with his new album No Rest For The Wicked. Many fans thought Kendrick would be a feature here, but that didn't turn out to be the case. However, Chike took to Instagram this weekend to share a clip of their studio session together. It was pictures from this session that sparked the collab rumors in the first place.
"Just keep building the motherf***er," K.Dot told his GNX collaborator in the clip. "Knock them out, just go. Don't even overthink it. Just go. Have fun with it..."
"In the most humblest way, this album is a big deal for me," AZ said later in the promo video. "I want to make sure I give it my all... If that ain't enough, then s**t, I got nothing else to give. It is what it is. I'm willing to accept those terms. What a f***ing journey..."
Other close affiliates and collaborators like Hit-Boy, Sounwave, and others have also shown love to No Rest For The Wicked.

Elsewhre, AZ Chike spoke on Kendrick Lamar's role on this new album. This was during an interview with Bootleg Kev from a couple of weeks ago before the LP dropped, but they dropped their segment on it this weekend.
"I was really just keeping my fingers crossed, bro," he said of a potential collaboration. "They still crossed. I don't know what could happen. Them dudes is so spontaneous... A lot could still happen. And I be trying to read them... They very intentional, bro. But it's not just Dot. Sounwave has been with me since I started the album... They was more concerned on how the album is as a whole... Them n***as is strict with the music. Rightfully so, though..."
As Kendrick Lamar features landed on unimpressed ears these days, fans hoped a Chike collab could bring him back to his high standard. Maybe we'll have to get that at some other point in the future. In any case, AZ has big plans for how to make the most out of No Rest For The Wicked, and a lot of support in his corner to fine-tune his craft.
