Kanye West’s first of two homecoming concerts was undoubtedly one for the books in his recent string of concerts this year. Ye has been on a triumphant run following the release of Bully, even breaking records along the way. He entered to “Homecoming” appropriately, performing the song five times, then delivering fan favorites and more recent cuts, along with a few special guests.
For starters, Ye reunited with Big Sean on stage, once again. The two ran through songs like “Clique” and “IDFWU” together. “Had to bring my homie from the D out," Ye announced before he jumped on the stage. It’s notable considering that they had a highly publicized falling out stemming from Ye’s controversial Drink Champs episode. Big Sean left Ye's G.O.O.D Music imprint in 2021.
Afterward, Ye brought 2 Chainz out on stage, who joined the two rappers to perform “Mercy.” Chainz then jumped into “Birthday Song.” Future joined Ye afterward for "Keep It Burnin'" and "F*ck Up Some Commas."
Twista Joins Kanye West In Chicago
Of course, Ye's return to his hometown needed to include an appearance from other hometown heroes, and it was only right that Twista came out. The two performed "Slow Jamz" and "Overnight Celebrity," delivering the most meaningful reunion of the night for Chicagoans. Perhaps this will lead to new collaborations between the two in the near future.
Last night marked the first of two shows for Ye in Chicago, with the artist returning to the stage at Soldier Field tonight for his second concert in the city. The last time he performed in the city was in 2021 during the Donda listening party.
Next, Kanye West will be performing in Indonesia on October 24th at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Indonesia. We will keep you posted on any further updates on Kanye.
