MoMA and Jordan Brand are teaming up for the first time, with three Air Jordan 1 High OG colorways set to release Spring 2027.

Jordan Brand and New York's Museum of Modern Art are teaming up for the first time. 3 Air Jordan 1 High OG colorways are set to release Spring 2027, each priced at $205.

Black/Grey, Black/Orange, and Black/Purple make up the trio, all built on a black base with a single accent color layered throughout. No official images have surfaced yet, so exact color placement and material choices remain unknown for now. But given MoMA's involvement, there's real room for a design-forward approach once details get confirmed.

This is the first time MoMA's relationship with Nike has extended into Jordan Brand specifically. That connection dates back to 2017, when an original Air Force 1 High appeared in MoMA's "Items: Is Fashion Modern?" exhibition.

The partnership deepened in 2018 through Virgil Abloh's Off-White Air Force 1, one of the most memorable sneakers tied to his work with Nike.

The timing lines up with two milestones at once. Next year marks both the 10th anniversary of Nike and MoMA's partnership, along with the 30th anniversary of Jordan Brand becoming its own independent entity. Pairs are expected through SNKRS, MoMA, and select Jordan Brand retailers.

MoMA x Air Jordan 1

MoMA's relationship with Nike has now quietly built up over nearly 10 years now. Beyond the Air Force 1 exhibition, the museum's Design Store launched a collaborative sock collection in 2024.

That relationship continued into 2025 with the Nike Air Max 95 OG "Reverse Neon." That release also pulled from an early design sketch by Sergio Lozano, reversing the shoe's familiar gradient in a way that fit naturally with MoMA's design-focused identity.

Bringing that same approach to the Air Jordan 1 feels like a natural next step. It's one of the most recognizable silhouettes in sneaker history, giving MoMA plenty to work with conceptually.

Overall with 3 colorways planned and a museum-backed story behind them, expect a limited rollout once release details come out. Draw-style launches or low retailer stock seem likely given past MoMA collaborations.
