Dame Dash and Jay-Z have been at odds for quite a few years now, although it has mostly been a one-way battle. Hov has remained mostly quiet on this front, while Dame continues to go after Jay in the media.
Over the last few months, Dame has been trashing Jay-Z for his apparent comeback. The legendary artist performed at Yankee Stadium for the 30th anniversary of Reasonable Doubt and the 25th anniversary of The Blueprint. However, this was not enough to make Dame a believer. Instead, he offered cynical commentary that bordered on parody.
Now, Dame Dash is going after Hov all over again, this time for his potential new album. There are rumblings that Jay-Z is looking to drop a new album soon. That said, Dame Dash doesn't want to hear it. In a recent interview, he said Hov was washed up, and that his career has been dead for 30 years.
Dame Dash On Jay-Z
Overall, these comments are harsh, and in the eyes of most people, completely unfounded. Jay-Z's career has been thriving for decades. When he dropped 4:44 in 2017, some felt as though it was one of the best albums by an older rapper ever. Some even believe it is Top 5 in Jay's catalog.
It just goes to show that when it comes to Jay-Z, Dame Dash doesn't really care about facts. Instead, he simply cares about getting one over on someone he believes slighted him.
Dame's energy has been that of a scorned ex, and we don't imagine that changing anytime soon. As Hov continues to perform around the world this Fall, expect Dame to be right there, giving his takes on all of it.
