Trey Songz is making his first appearance on the silver screen in a major role. He plays Sonny in the new crime drama entitled Blood Brother.
His character is a compassionate cop who grapples with the implications of his relationship with his friend Jake, played by Jack Kesy, an ex-con on the pursuit of revenge.
The trailer features some of Songz new music. The snippets of the action unfold to "How Dat Sound," a collaboration with 2 Chainz and Yo Gotti. More of his music is also said to be part of the Blood Brother soundtrack.
"I have a lot of music that I want to share, so along with the music that’s coming with the release of the trailer, I’ve been working on an album that’ll be coming out soon."
Fellow music artist Fetty Wap also stars in the movie.
"He had a great time on set, and I think he did a great job. I've known Fetty since the beginning of his career, so it was cool to have him on set."
A musical collaboration might be on the horizon for the pair.
"It’s something we’d love to do. We’re still in the works with that."
Blood Brother hits theaters and VOD on November 30.
