Earlier today, news surfaced that The Weeknd was set to perform alongside Ms. Lauryn Hill at tonight’s Grammy Awards. Well it turns out, that won't be the case anymore unfortunately.

In a statement made from Lauryn Hill’s camp, Lauryn was allegedly booked prematurely and wasn't necessarily even set to to perform in the first place. Here’s what the entire statement read,

“The Grammy's announced a performance by Ms. Lauryn Hill prematurely and without approval. Ms. Hill had concerts all weekend, leaving no time to prepare, and was uncertain she would even be able to make it to LA in time to rehearse for the event. Any performance that could have happened was never confirmed, and should not have been advertised as such. Ms. Hill was invited to do a collaboration with an artist she appreciates. The performance was intended to be a surprise and unfortunately due to its last minute nature, was unable to come to fruition.”

Lauryn Hill wasn't the only act that had to cancel her performance at Mondays Grammy’s either. Rihanna also had to cancel her scheduled set thanks to bronchitis, TMZ reports. While Ri Ri showed up at rehearsal, doctors recommended she sit out and not risk the danger of further damage.

While we may have missed out on two amazing acts, we did get to see Kendrick Lamar, The Weeknd, John Legend, Justin Bieber and more grace the stage (which you can watch all right here).
