The Rush Hour franchise is about to see its fourth installment. The first release of the action film follows Chief Inspector Lee (played by Jackie Chan) and Detective James Carter (played by Chris Tucker) as they team up in trying to save the Chinese Consul's kidnapped daughter. The second film sees the two in Hong Kong involved in a money counterfeit scam and the third sees them in Paris protecting a woman with knowledge of trade secrets.
Jackie recently paid a visit to The Cruz Show where he informed fans about a possible Rush Hour 4. “For the last seven years, we’ve been turning down the script, turning down the script,” Jackie said. “Yesterday, we just agreed.”
On what was agreed upon, we don't know but we do know that movie makers are waiting on the approval of one of the films' lead, Chris. "The script probably at the end of this month will have a second draft, and next year, probably [we will] start. I hope — if Chris Tucker agrees.” The franchise carrying on without Chris is a tough thought, but we'll have to stay patient on the official arrival of not only the synopsis but the full cast.
Jackie added that doing the new movie is "not about money," but more about being the "time to make [it]. We’re all, like, old men. I told Chris Tucker, ‘Before we get old, please, let’s do Rush Hour 4.'”
RH2 saw the most profit out of the three movies raking in $347M worldwide. RH1 with $244 million and RH3 with $258M - all directed by Brett Ratner.
During Jackie's radio interview he also promoted his film The Foreigner where Jackie plays Quan, a London-based businessman who sets out on a revenge plot to get back the terrorists who killed his daughter in a politically motivated act of terrorism. Quan finds out that his past may hold the secrets to who the killers of his daughter are.
