The rapper previously suggested his sophomore album would arrive December 1st.

Post Malone's sophomore album Beerbongs & Bentleys will not be released for a "little while," according to a tweet from the rapper. The statement comes after Post suggested the album would be released on December 1st in an interview with the H3 podcast in November. Shortly thereafter, Republic Records confirmed with XXL that the album did not in fact have a release date.

Post's tweet apologized to fans who were expecting the album to arrive this week. "hey guys, i know a lot of you guys were expecting a project today, it won't be dropping for a little while," he said. "I'm sorry to let you down, but i need to make sure this album is perfect for you. I'm gonna keep working my ass off and make the best fucking album ever. i love ya. 💕🍻"

Malone previously revealed that Ty Dolla $ign, Nicki Minaj, and John Mayer would be among those featured on the project. The lead single from the album "Rockstar," has spent the last seven weeks at No. 1 on the Hot 100. The singles success has continued to boost his debut album Stoney, which was certified double platinum in October. Despite being released in December 2016, the project hit its peak on the Billboard 200 on October 28th, 2017, climbing to No. 4.

Post Malone recently inspired backlash and debate over comments he made about hip-hop, namely the quote: "If you're looking for lyrics, if you're looking to cry, if you're looking to think about life, don't listen to hip-hop." Post later explained his comments in a video posted to Twitter. "Who am I to tell you don't listen to this. And whenever you wanna feel something don't listen to this. Or who am I to tell you that you should feel a certain way when listening to something," he said. "What I was saying was when I wanna sit down and cry I listen to Bob Dylan and his guitar just like everyone else."
