The project still doesn't have an official release date.

Way back in March of last year, Metro Boomin and JID shared some exciting news. They confirmed that they were working on a collaborative album as rapper and producer. Metro has worked with some of the biggest names in rap and could get to try his hand at working with one of the genre's critical darlings. Later in 2023, they once again confirmed that they were working on a collaborative album and that it was still coming eventually.

There hasn't been much news about the project since then. At least that was the case until JID took to twitter to discuss his new freestyle and answer some fan questions on a few other issues. One of which was an update on the Metro Boomin album. "I don’t wana give false hope so I can’t answer but when it’s ready it’s yours. working on it everyday," he replied to a question asking when the album was coming. While that gives fans almost no indication what to expect in terms of a time span for the project's release, it's nice knowing that the record is still coming eventually. Check out his official response tweet below.

JID Still Working On Metro Boomin Collab

The news about his collaborative album comes in a series of tweets where JID was discussing his breakout new freestyle "30." He shared the song to YouTube yesterday and his performance has been getting rave reviews from fans. "30 is fye bro, just raw raps about what ever came to my head, I’m excited about music and inspired/blessed to be doin this sh*t fr," one of his tweets read.

In a different tweet he explained how the freestyle originally came to be. "I started doin the freestyles on some practice sh*t cuz I’m usually a pen to pad writer with everything, with these I go line for line no writing and not takin too long in between to test my self, I have 28 more I did before29 but that one felt right to start wit and here we r." What do you think of JID revealing that he still works on his collaborative album with Metro Boomin every day? Let us know in the comment section below.
