Could Lil Durk have another #1 on the way?

It's been a big couple of weeks for Lil Durk. In May, he pre-empted the release of his upcoming album by dropping "All My Life ft. J. Cole". That single did numbers, peaking at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and has been streamed, at the time of writing, nearly 60 million times. Furthermore, "All My Life" is out-streaming NBA YoungBoy's Richest Opp by more than double.

However, what people were really looking forward to was Durk's eighth studio album, Almost Healed. It would be Durk's first album since March 2022's 7220, which went platinum and spent two non-consecutive weeks at number one. Furthermore, both of Durk's last two albums have gone platinum and his last three albums have peaked in the top-2. Safe to say, there were big expectations for Almost Healed. With the international charts published before Billboard, Almost Healed's best performance is currently in Norway, where it peaked at #10.

"Almost Healed" Is A Smash Hit

According to DJ Akademiks, Almost Healed sold 124,000 units in its first week. That's a major success, especially compared to Richest Opp, which sold somewhere in the region of 58,000 units in its first week. While that number will be more than enough to put Almost Healed in the top 3, the question will be if it is enough to take the top spot. Morgan Wallen's One Day At A Time has absolutely dominated the Billboard Album 200. The album has held the #1 spot for 12 weeks at the time of writing. Ironically, one of the tracks on Almost Healed has Morgan Wallen as a featured artist. Overall, Almost Healed features eight collaborations.

Furthermore, the top 5 is currently filled with a number of chart stalwarts. SZA's SOS is currently at #2 and has been in the charts for 24 weeks. Meanwhile, Taylor Swift's Midnights (31 weeks) and Morgan Wallen's Dangerous: The Double Album (124 weeks) occupy #3 and #4. The only newcomer from last week to the top five is The Dave Matthews Band's Walk Around The Moon. It remains to be seen if Lil Durk can become the first new artist to snag the #1 spot since mid-March. Follow all the latest music news here at HotNewHipHop.
