Jamie Foxx is a multi-hyphenate creative if there ever was one. Today, we're looking at his biggest hits in music.

Jamie Foxx's hit songs are only one aspect of his illustrious career. The definition of a creative multi-hyphenate, he's done just about everything in the creative industries. From his booming vocals on tracks such as "Gold Digger" to his lead role as Django in Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained, the actor, comedian, and singer proved he could do it all. The 55-year-old also has recently been in the headlines for unfortunate reasons. Foxx's health is reportedly "Ok," and continuing to improve. Later reports confirmed that Foxx had to be revived after an on-set stroke. On April 14, a person close to the situation stated, "They are running tests and still trying to figure out what happened."

As fans await more information about the acclaimed entertainer's health scare, we're revisiting his contributions to music. That creative avenue took Foxx longer to grow into than his comedy or acting ventures. He spoke about this on Power 106, reportedly also stating, "I would throw parties and invite people who were musical." Additionally, by inviting the likes of Kanye West, Jay Z, Pharrell, and Missy Elliot to his parties, he began to make the necessary connections to break into the industry. We will look at his greatest hits by setting the tone that he was a desirable collaborator.

"Slow Jamz" (2004)

The song "Slow Jamz" was the launching pad for Jamie Foxx's career. Early on, Foxx struggled to work with artists or be taken seriously for years. That all changed when Kanye West had him on the verse for the iconic "Slow Jamz." In fact, Foxx recalled being initially hesitant about Kanye's style. The twelfth song off of West's The College Dropout, many also hail the song as the greatest track from an album that's widely held as one of the defining records of hip-hop.

"Gold Digger" (2005)

Jamie Foxx was woken up at 3:00 a.m. by his manager when the song "Gold Digger" was created. A frustrated Foxx was forced into his basement studio, where Kanye West was in the process of polishing the song. "Gold Digger" remains Foxx's most successful collaboration, now approaching 900 million streams on Spotify.

"Blame It" (2008)

Released on his third studio album, Intuition, "Blame It" would receive many accolades from the music industry at large. In fact, "Blame It" would win Best R&B Performance for a Duo at the 52nd Grammys and later be performed at the BET Awards. A true R&B club anthem, "Blame It" saw Jamie Foxx and T-Pain collaborating amongst silky auto-tuned vocals. At the same time, the era of blending R&B and pop was at its peak. Foxx would also take advantage of it to create a hit that now has over 100 million streams on Spotify.

"Fall For Your Type" (2010)

While Foxx is best known for his hyper-focused club hits, "Fall For Your Type" saw him tone things down for more of a sensual track. Released as the third single to his fourth studio album, Best Night Of My Life, the track features guest vocals from Drake. In fact, the song was initially recorded by Drake. "Fall For Your Type" also sounds like an odd blend of Lenny Kravitz and techno music and is a fleeting moment of vulnerability in Foxx's discography.

"Unpredictable" (2005)

Like "Fall For Your Type," "Unpredictable" is also a smooth, romantic ballad. Foxx sings, "Love is so unpredictable / You never know what you're gonna get / But when it's good, it's really good / And when it's bad, it's really bad." Foxx collaborates with Ludacris on "Unpredictable," who adds unexpected energy to the song with his unique flow. Once again, the track would earn a Top 10 spot on the Billboard 100 charts. Additionally, Foxx would win another Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance For a Duo.

"Just Like Me" (2009)

"Just Like Me" is downright groovy, featuring a darting beat and a catchy guitar riff. Foxx and T.I. sing in a triumphant tone, discussing how they've finally found someone "like me." Released in 2009, the track was an immediate hit, reaching the Top 10 on the Billboard R&B Charts. Similar to "Fall For Your Type," "Just Like Me" was initially written for another artist. In this case, the track was originally meant for Usher.

"DJ Play A Love Song" (2005)

Jamie Foxx and Twista once again collaborated on "DJ Play a Love Song," a sultry R&B track featuring a seductive beat. The warped hi-hats on the song make it a standout track in the production compared to much of his discography. Foxx states, "DJ, won't you play this girl a love song? / She really needs to hear this freakin' love song." Altogether, it's your classic 2000s R&B cut. Love-sick, groovy, and smooth, the song's romantic vibe makes it an excellent choice for slow dances or intimate moments with a loved one.

"Can I Take You Home" (2013)

From his debut album Peep This, "Can I Take You Home" is a seductive R&B jam through and through. At the time, Foxx was still a newcomer to the music scene. With the comedian label hovering over him, "Can I Take You Home" also had fans and musicians begin to take him seriously as a musician. Essentially, the track is about a man trying to persuade a woman to come home with him after spending the night together.

"Winner" (2010)

A collaboration between Jamie Foxx and Justin Timberlake would always be a seamless fit. Released in 2010, "Winner" is featured on his fourth studio album, Best Night of My Life. The narrative content is relatively simplistic. With Jamie Foxx, Justin Timberlake, and T.I. all at the peak of their careers, they each hail in their successes. To put it simply, "Winner" is about self-confidence and perseverance. Further, the track would go on to receive mixed reviews. However, the song reached the Top 40 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop charts.

"You Changed Me" (2015)

"You Changed Me" was released in 2015, leading up to Foxx's fifth studio album, Hollywood: A Story of a Dozen Roses. Amid an album about love and heartbreak, "You Changed Me" seamlessly fit the record's narrative. A romantic R&B ballad, Jamie Foxx and Chris Brown sing about being changed for the better by the love of a woman. The song was yet another commercial success for Foxx. "You Changed Me" reached the top 20 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop charts and the top 40 on Billboard Hot 100.

"Digital Girl (Remix)" (2009)

The narrative behind "Digital Girl" was ahead of its time in many ways. The 2009 track sees Jamie Foxx sing about his romantic attraction to a virtual girl. Essentially, the song also warns of the dangers of technology in real-life relationships. "Digital Girl" features his most star-studded feature list, with Kanye West and Drake contributing verses. Released as a single off of Jamie Foxx's Intuition, the track further explores how the incoming digital era would shape human connections.
