MGM Studios Presents CREED III HBCU Fan Screening In Atlanta

Michael B. Jordan brought up a reporter's previous comments on him during an interview on the red carpet for a screening of Creed III on Saturday. When the reporter mentioned that they went to school together, Jordan revealed that she once called him "corny." The interviewer, Morning Hustle host Lore’l, downplayed her past comments.

“We go way back, all the way back to Chad Science [Academy] in Newark,” she began. “Oh yeah, I was the corny kid, right?” Jordan responded, referring to remarks she made on a podcast. Lore'l then insisted she was being “misquoted.” “No you did not hear me say that! I said we used to make fun of the name,” she continued, before switching the topic. “But yeah, he is obviously killing things out here.” She concluded: “Well, you’re not corny anymore.”

Lore'l had spoken about being classmates with Jordan during an episode of the Undressing Room podcast. She and her co-hosts, Eva Marcille and Dominique da Diva, had been discussing Jordan's relationship with Lori Harvey. “You know what’s so crazy? I went to school with Michael B. Jordan at a point in life,” she said. “… And to be honest with you, we teased him all the damn time because his name was Michael Jordan. Let’s start there, and he was no Michael Jordan. And he also would come to school with a headshot. We lived in Newark, that’s the hood. We would make fun of him like, ‘What you gonna do with your stupid headshot!?’ And now look at him!” Jordan and Harvey have since broken up.

Creed III is scheduled to hit theaters on March 3, 2023. It will be the first film in the series that Jordan directed. It also stars Tessa Thompson, Jonathan Majors, Wood Harris, and more. It's the first film in the series to not feature Sylvester Stallone as Rocky Balboa.
