Polo G said the headlines made it seem like he was following a trend set by Meek Mill and Lil Baby.

Boosie Badazz predicted that Meek Mill’s career would be even bigger after his release from prison. However, this theory doesn’t necessarily apply to all rappers in hip-hop. Gunna, specifically, faced much scrutiny in recent months since his release from prison. The rapper came home just before the holidays but there weren’t many individuals that embraced him, especially after court footage emerged online. A clip of Gunna copping his Alford Plea spread like wildfire and did immediate damage to his career.

Ultimately, fans left rat emojis under his comments when Gunna returned to Instagram. Other members of the YSL camp felt as though he was disloyal to Young Thug. However, it was his many peers in hip-hop that pushed him away. Lil Baby and Meek Mill, who both have strong relationships with Thug and Gunna, unfollowed the DS4EVER rapper on Instagram, leading plenty of other rappers to follow. However, Polo G somehow got tied into the controversy, even though he didn’t follow Gunna to begin with.

Polo G Isn't Concerned About Gunna's Snitching Rumors

After people accused Polo G of unfollowing Gunna around the same time as Lil Baby and Meek Mill, the rapper made it clear that he doesn’t follow trends or what any other person is doing. This week, he sat down with the Full Send Podcast where he explained that why he addressed the rumors in the first place. “I don’t feel no type of way, for real. It was just me seeing a specific headline, like, you worded it in a way, like I'm trend following,” he said. “That’s not me. That’s the only reason why I addressed the situation.”

Overall, he said that he doesn’t want to get into the messy drama in the rap game, anyways. “Yeah, I don’t get into none of that, man. I’m chillin’,” he explained. Though it seems unlikely that Polo and Gunna will work on music together in the future, the Chicago rapper evidently isn’t concerned with what the “pushin p” rapper has going on in his life. Check out the clip below and sound off with your thoughts in the comments. Do you think Gunna deserves the backlash he’s facing?
