He holds up his end of the bargain.

Richard Sherman is a man of his word.

According to Bleacher Report, the All-Pro cornerback for the Seattle Seahawks had promised to personally fund a scholarship for Hershai James, a student at Varina High School in Virginia, but on one condition: that she became an honor roll student her senior year. After James accomplished that feat to close out this school year, Sherman held up his end of the deal.

"It goes back to knowledge is power [...] if you have knowledge you’re going to be as powerful as you ever want to be," said Sherman, who was a graduate of Stanford before going pro.

"When my senior year began, I definitely had the scholarship in my head as motivation," James added. "It’s like saying my hard work and dedication had paid off." She will attend Norfolk State in the fall.
