Lil Uzi Vert's success started from the grassroots with fans chasing him at his shows as if he was a fifth Black Beatle. Tuesday, Soundcloud awarded the Philadelphia trap star a trophy for the most follows in 2016. Lil Uzi took to Instagram to announce his prize.
"The internet 2016 . 2017 on Da Way Don't Forget Where You Came From 2," the LUV Is Rage rapper posted in the caption adding goat and fire emoji. The trophy is a physical rendering of a sound wave.
The diminutive emcee has 857,000 followers on the streaming service website. And according to Billboard, most of them -- about 815,000 --subscribed to his channel last year. A few months ago, HNHH shared some gems from Lil Uzi's 97-track-heavy Soundcloud catalog.
The rapper is currently on tour in Europe with The Weeknd and Bryson Tiller.
