10 Songs To Bring In The New Year With

Music is the most important part of any party, and on New Year's Eve, it's even more of a big deal. Not only does your playlist have to be fire, it has to simultaneously bring back all the great memories of the year passed, as well as launch you into the next one.

We're leaving the midnight selection up to you, but leading up to that important moment, we've put together 10 songs that'll keep the momentum going. Of course, an important part of any playlist is keeping things fresh, so we didn't go too far back, instead picking out a few records -- some very familiar and others less so -- that haven't yet warn out their welcome (that means no "Trap Queen" or "Hotline Bling" -- sorry y'all!).

YG- I Wanna Benz (Feat. Nipsey Hussle & 50 Cent)

YG fucked up all of our year end lists by putting out one of the best songs of the year in December. While we're still salty about that, we're thankful he delivered the track in time for the biggest party of the year. London On The Track's take on G-Funk is guaranteed to get things moving.

Chris Brown- Wrist (Feat. Solo Lucci)

Chris Brown's Royalty was a little more disjointed than we'd expected, but "Wrist" is definitely a winner. The track moves more like an Atlanta rap hit than an R&B song, but Brown has always been good at maneuvering the space between the two genres. This one should be hard to argue with no matter what kind of music you're into.

Jeremih- Pass Dat

Jeremih knows how to write a hit, and while there are quite a few tracks fitting of a NYE celebration on his long overdue Late Nights: The Album, there is none more suited for the occasion than the infectiously catchy "Pass Dat". Recently co-signed by The Weeknd, it's clear that this is an anthem for prime intoxication, and that what New Year's is all about right?

ASAP Ferg- New Level (Feat. Future)

You've already heard the "New Year, New Me" spiel by now, so why not circumvent the cliche with ASAP Ferg's newest single, and take 2016 to a "New Level". If Future's on there, no one will be complaining, and Ferg is as energetic as ever. This one should continue to grow into 2016, so why not be the first one singing its praises on NYE.

Bryson Tiller- 502 Come Up

Bryson Tiller is known primarily for his slow jams, but if you've listened to T R A P S O U L, you'll know he's got a couple of party records in the bank. "502 Come Up" is the most obvious choice for NYE, and will surely bring some energy to your get together. 

It would be pretty silly not to assume a few Future songs will make it onto your playlist tonight, but "March Madness" is the perfect combination of intoxication and euphoria for your end of year celebrations. It's hard to imagine Future getting any bigger in 2016 than he was in 2015, but here's hoping his hot streak continues.

Tory Lanez- Woods

"Say It" is the one people know, but sometimes New Year's is about embracing the hits of tomorrow. "Woods" is one of our favorite tracks off of Tory Lanez' brand new tape, The New Toronto, and his vocal performance alone should win people over right away. In fact, throwing the tape on shuffle might not be a bad idea either.

Young Thug- Best Friend

NYE is all about bringing in the new year with the people who matter most to you, and there couldn't be a better way than shouting along to Young Thug's Vine-referencing "Best Friend" with your squad. Thug may still be a bit divisive in certain crowds, but this is one everyone should be able to agree on.

Travis Scott- Maria I'm Drunk (Feat. Justin Bieber & Young Thug)

"Maria I'm Drunk" just has so much going for it. The title alone should be justification enough to soundtrack a night of partying, but the incredibly catchy Thug contribution and admittedly fire Justin Bieber verse really make it an essential. This one should probably be saved for the sloppy end of the night shenanigans.

Yo Gotti- Down In The DM

Though your resolution may be to cease late night DM sliding altogether, this is your last chance to do so before the clock strikes midnight, and you need what may arguably be the hottest song out right now to help you in your quest. Concept aside, Yo Gotti's latest is powerful enough to thrust you headfirst into the new year, and it certainly won't be the last time you hear the chart-climbing single in 2016.
